Ever since The Force Awakens left us (and Rey) at the edge of a literal cliff with legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker, we've been waiting with bated breath to know more about their first meeting.

According to a new Entertainment Weekly interview, though, we shouldn't hold our breath for the hero we once knew. And audiences won't be the only one's reeling. Rey, the new Jedi in training, has to cope with the disappointment of meeting her hero and finding him ... lacking.

Rey is still waiting her turn in Star Wars Monopoly

TwitterFacebook

Our own Star Wars expert Christ Taylor noted similarities between this new trailer and scenes from trailers and teasers for The Force Awakens

Someone — specifically, YouTube user Morphin Bad — has actually gone to the trouble of putting together a clip reel that shows us those visual comparisons so we can soak them in with our own eyes.

As The Last Jedi trailer unspools on the right, clips mostly taken from The Force Awakens' teasers and trailers (with a handful of exceptions taken straight from the film), have been edited together and presented on the left.  Read more...
