Mindy Kaling‘s preparing for a brand NEW project — motherhood! But it seems the actress is going to have to take on the part alone, because she isn’t sure of her parenting co-star.
“Mindy doesn’t know who the father is,” a source close to The Mindy Project star confessed to Radar.
Insiders insist the 38-year-old star is expecting after being seen around town sporting a possible baby bump.
Rumors ran rampant after Kaling was packing what looked to be a lot more than a food belly under her blouse on a romantic July 8 dinner date, clinking a glass filled with water with her companion.
“She twice made toasts by drinking water instead of wine — which is highly unusual for her,” said one source close to the star.
“Mindy’s never felt the maternal urge, but she better get used to it, because it looks like there’s a baby on board!”
Insiders claim she’s not exactly overjoyed by a new addition.
Kaling’s career has been on fire since The Office came to a close and she’s been enjoying the perks of stardom, sources spill.
In fact, the quick-witted sitcom star has been dating up a storm in between episodes of her on-again, off-again relationship with former Office co-star, B.J. Novak.
Earlier this year, she was even caught flirting on social media with New Jersey Sen. Corey Booker!
“Her love life has been all over the place and she can’t quite place the guy to the time of conception,” the source said. “So this is a hot mess.”
“She’s always been a love ’em and leave ’em type.”
Of course, now that Kaling is facing the prospect of being a mom, the timing couldn’t be worse from her perspective!
“She’s got two big movies coming out next year — A Wrinkle in Time on March 8 and Ocean’s Eight on June 8 — and she was really getting excited about doing the press and basking in the spotlight,” the insider continued.
“That’s going to be tough to do if she has a baby to take care of.”
A rep for Kaling did not respond to Radar’s calls for comment.
